How we measure — and how to use it
Most size charts tell you about your body. Ours also tell you about the garment. On every product page you'll find the measured garment length in centimetres and the height range the piece is made for. Here's how to use those numbers.
1. Where a length lands depends on your height

That's why we publish the number rather than a word like "midi": the same dress is a midi on one woman and a knee-length on another.
2. Compare garment lengths, not labels
Take a piece you own that fits the way you like. Lay it flat and measure:
- Trousers: from the top of the waistband to the hem (full length), or the inside leg from crotch seam to hem (inseam).
- Dresses & skirts: from the highest point of the shoulder (or the waistband for skirts) to the hem.
- Coats & jackets: from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem, and the sleeve from shoulder seam to cuff.
Then compare with the garment length on the product page. A difference of 1–2 cm is normal between garments of the same size.
3. The Fit Check
A shoulder seam that sits on the shoulder bone. A waist where yours is, not two inches above. Sleeves that reach the wrist. Fabrics with a little give that don't cling. We check every piece against those four before it goes on the site, and we say on the page if one of them is a compromise.
4. Body measurements
Each product has its own bust / waist / hip chart, because fabrics and cuts differ. Measure over light clothing, tape snug but not tight, and if you're between sizes choose the larger one for woven fabrics and the smaller one for stretch knits.
